Why not spend a day Canoeing down the Gard, through the gorge and finishing underneath the Pont Du Gard ?
You can rent bikes for the day or week from the local "Village Velo"
HARIBO Sweet Museum
The HARIBO Museum is only a couple of minutes drive from the house, a really interesting visit, especially for the kids! During the summer there is also a small fun fair adjacent to the site.

Pont Du Gard
Simply amazing, one of the wonders of the surviving world, a must see. There is a big visitors centre there now too !
5 minutes drive from the house. A UNESCO world heritage site
Nimes, what a town! great shopping (night market on a Thursday) and full of culture. Ever wondered what it would be like to be a gladiator and stand in a REAL roman arena ?
Also the Maison Carre is a surviving Roman temple.
Steam Train ~ Anduze
A really great day out, a steam train that goes through the Cevenne from Anduze to St Jean Du Gard. Go on a Tuesday and catch the huge market in St Jean Du Gard, (9am-1pm). In St Jean Du Gard you can see the large aquarium, or get on and off the train at the Bamboo museum. Great fun, kids love it.
GOLF
Bring your clubs !
There are 3 golf clubs nearby, all worth a visit. There is a 9 hole course within a couple of minutes drive from the house, a family owned club and a great way to spend a morning.

At Nimes there are 2 fantastic courses, Vacquerolles and Club de Campagne (links below)

I defy anybody to play a better hole than the 13th at Club De Campagne!

WALKING
There is lots of walking to be found in and around Uzes, the gorge drops down to the right hand side of the main road into Uzes, and is just spectacular. Nearby there is the Gorge du Gardon or Collias to name but a couple of routes. Further a field try the Ardeche Gorge ... Canoeing and walking.... Spectacular
Also The Cevennes National Parc : a paradise for walkers with its chestnut groves, springs and small valleys.
CAVES
Try the caves at Trabuc, descend down deep underground, the most spectacular site
(take a jumper even in Summer)
ORANGE
About an hours drive away is Orange ........ Roman history abundant !
