Uzes is situated in Gard, (dept 30) right in the heart of Ancient Roman Empire, History
is everywhere, with The Pont Du Gard, the wonders of Orange and the Roman Arena
at Nimes to name but a few
The medieval village of Uzes is north of Nimes and is within reach of many "low cost"
operators airports.
Olcote is situated on the south side of the village.
The house itself is in private grounds, set on a private cul-de-sac but within easy
reach of the village and local supermarkets.
The nearest supermarket is within a few minutes walk, a low cost "DIA" which is
similar to the UK Aldi. But within a 4 minute drive there is a large Carrefour.
There are restaurants and cafes abundant in the village which is a 15-20 minute walk
from the house, and if you prefer there is a mostly traffic free route from the house to
the village. There is a small Restaurant within a couple of minutes walk, but most are
in the village. You don't have to drive, so everybody can have a drink if they want to !
Olcote Location
The house is in an ideal location from which to explore Southern France and
Provence, there are lots of things to do, many of which are detailed on our
nearby attractions page. But, for many, the "Olcote spell" will cast itself over
you and you will find yourself relaxing in a way you never thought you would!
